Photojournalists’ Magazine

About

Photojournalists’ Magazine is an independent, non-commercial digital publication dedicated to contemporary press and documentary photography. Founded by Polish photojournalist Jacek Łabędzki, it grew out of a Facebook profile that has, since 2020, been showcasing the work of professional photojournalists and documentary photographers – mainly from Poland, but also from around the world. Based in Kraków, the magazine was created to give visibility to honest, human-driven visual storytelling at a time when newsrooms are cutting back on photography and algorithms increasingly shape the visual landscape.

Each issue presents carefully edited photo essays, long-term projects, and single images that tell powerful stories about our world – from politics, social change, and conflict, to everyday life, culture, and sport. The magazine highlights the work of both established and emerging photographers, offering space for images that often remain unpublished in archives, agency servers, or private folders. Every story is accompanied by thoughtful captions and context, allowing readers to understand not only what is shown, but why it matters.

As a digital-only, free-to-view publication, Photojournalists’ Magazine focuses on quality rather than clickbait. It aims to support the global community of photojournalists, strengthen the role of visual journalism, and remind audiences, editors, and institutions that strong photography is essential to how we understand reality — not just decoration.

Today, the magazine is also proudly supported by Camerapixo Press and recognized within the IVJA – Independent Visual Journalism Association network. This affiliation underscores its commitment to high editorial standards, credibility, and the preservation of meaningful documentary work. Selected stories and images from each issue may receive IVJA distinctions, further highlighting excellence and strengthening the magazine’s presence within the international visual-journalism community.
